On September 24th-25th 2020, the IDENTITIES partners met at the 2nd Transnational Project Meeting: two intense days of discussion and collaboration that have built the basis for the activities in the second and third years of the project. The meeting was organized by the University of Crete but was held entirey online, through the Microsoft Teams platform, due to the travel limitations imposed by the COVID-19 emergency.
The modules developed so far have been presented: in particular, two O2 modules (nanotechnologies and coronavirus) and two O3 modules (cryptography and parabolic motion). At the heart of the meeting there were the presentations and workshops about the model for designing interdisciplinary modules O4 and the methodology for implementing them.
An important moment was the participation of a member of the IDENTITIES advisory board, prof. Roberto Natalini. He is a mathematician and Director of the Institute for the Applications of Calculus “Mauro Picone” at the Italian National Research Council, but also an expert in the field of science communication. During the meeting he offered a contribution to the IDENTITIES discussion, underlining the importance of a reflection interdisciplinarity not only to give back an authentic picture of what research and scientific practice are nowadays, but also to help students, citizens and policymakers to deal with the challenges we are addressing as a society.
Finally, plans of modules implementation in the second year of the project were shared, as well as plans on upcoming multiplier events and dissemination.
